The client

FAN Courier is one of Romania’s leading courier companies, operating a diverse fleet of over 2,200 vehicles, including trucks, trailers, passenger cars, vans, scooters, and tractors. With their headquarters located in Bucharest, FAN Courier serves the entire country, connecting major cities and ensuring efficient logistics and delivery services for thousands of clients daily. At the beginning of the collaboration, FAN Courier gradually moved their fleet under Targa Telematics’ monitoring solutions, starting with 800 units in 2020 and completing the operation with the entire fleet of over 2,200 vehicles by 2024.

The goal

FAN Courier needed a solution to monitor every mission and route of its trucks and trailers, operating both day and night. Starting from its main hub in Bucharest, the company required full visibility over the entire national network, with major cities serving as key points of interest (POI’s).

The company aims to optimise processes and costs with key priorities such as monitoring fuel theft, idle time, vehicle usage, service and maintenance downtime and driving behaviour. They also require a partner capable of rapidly managing the installation, maintenance services and providing on-field support with minimal disruption to daily courier operations.

Additional requirements include generating reports tailored to internal needs, access to real-time delivery status, and integrating the telematics platform with the Company’s internal CRM and TMS (Transport Management System).

The solution

The cooperation with FAN Courier started in 2020 and with the development of a custom solution focused on monitoring the Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) for each route. The system provides live updates on the main dashboard, showing the status of each route and vehicle involved in active missions, based on FAN Courier’s scheduled route data importing. This enables transport managers to have a complete overview of each mission’s status, distinguishing between on-time arrivals, delays, or missions in progress. 

Currently, FAN Courier is using a Targa Telematics solution which has been specifically customised and adapted to meet their operational needs. It provides transport managers with a full range of operational insights, such as GPS tracking and detailed reports on fuel consumption. Several other tailored reports have been delivered based on specific customer requirements, including the Fuel Comparative Report and the new Fuel Monitoring Dashboard. 

Targa Telematics’ solution is fully integrated with FAN Courier’s internal CRM and TMS – ensuring seamless data exchange and enhanced operational efficiency – and covers the entire fleet’s 2.200 vehicles, including trucks, trailers, passenger cars, vans, scooters, and tractors.
