The client

Duferco Energia SpA., a subsidiary of the Duferco Group, operates in the Italian energy market. Initially established to oversee the Group’s investments in renewable energy production plants, the company later expanded its focus to include the marketing of electricity and gas across all market segments.

The goal

Duferco Energia acquired Elettra, Genoa’s former Car Sharing service, with the objective of transforming it into a 100% electric, zero-emission initiative. Aiming to revitalise urban car-sharing, Elettra introduced vehicle Free-Floating mode in addition to the existing station-based mode, offering greater travel flexibility. Furthermore, new all-electric cars have been deployed to enhance sustainability. Elettra’s service is also available to private companies through the GoGoGE “Mobility as a Service” project, supporting corporate car sharing solutions.

The solution

Elettra’s entire service is powered by Targa Telematics’ digital platform, which enables the mobility operator to efficiently manage fleet management operations while leveraging data analysis to understand vehicle usage patterns. Elettra’s smartphone App, created by Targa Telematics, offer digital booking, vehicle collection and service billing, along with information about Duferco charging points. A 24/7 help desk is also available 24/7 to address any issues promptly. Additionally, the integration of “keyless” technology ensures a seamless and always-accessible user experience.

Benefits

Targa Telematics provides efficient and flexible solutions with quick response times to meet all market needs. In just three months, the complete solution, including the smartphone app, was developed. Through a single dashboard, Duferco can manage a fleet of 160 fully electric vehicles, available in Station Based, Free Floating, Corporate and Condominium configurations. To date, the service has attracted 11,000 users, who have completed 140,000 trips and travelled more than 3,000,000 km. The platform can also integrate complementary mobility options such as electric scooters, e-bikes and local public transport.
