Viasat is also a partner of the MOVE-IN project in the Veneto

The company, acquired last year by Targa Telematics, is officially accredited as a technology partner of the MOVE-IN Project, which promotes a more conscious and sustainable use of the most polluting vehicles

Viasat, a Targa Telematics company – one of the leading global players in the field of technologies dedicated to the Internet of Things (IoT) and the development of digital solutions and platforms for connected mobility – is among the technology partners accredited by the Veneto Region to commission the MOVE-IN (MOnitoraggio dei VEicoli INquinanti) project, which permits circulation in areas subject to traffic blocks, even for vehicles with an old registration.

The project, which is already active in Lombardy, Emilia-Romagna and Piedmont, aims to promote a more conscious use of the most polluting vehicles, which should be subject to traffic restrictions, by assigning a mileage threshold to owners, individuals and companies, who join the project on a voluntary basis, which can be monitored throughout the year and established according to the type and environmental class of the vehicle. The project also aims to reward those who adopt a more sustainable driving style in urban areas and on highways with the allocation of additional bonus kilometers.

In addition, Viasat is accredited by the Veneto Region as a Telematics Service Provider (TSP) for mileage monitoring.

“As a TSP of the Move-In project, we make our contribution to the containment of CO2 emissions by encouraging a more conscious use of vehicles. By virtue of our technology, we support the Veneto Region in the development of more sustainable mobility, which has always been part of our corporate mission”, commented Nazzareno Marchese, Go to Market Manager of Viasat.
